GWDDs are a proprietary calculation that takes into account temperature in the form of total degree days (absolute difference of mean daily temperature from 65), population, and regional patterns of natural gas consumption versus other fuels. Simply, a higher number of GWDDs correlates with higher natural gas demand. Observed GWDDs in the charts and tables below cover the current natural gas demand season, the 2023-24 Withdrawal Season which runs from November 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024.
