There are currently 5 Independent System Operators (ISOs) in the US--CAISO, MISO, ERCOT, NEISO, and NYISO--while three others--PJM, BPA, and SPP--fall under the broader umbrella of Regional Transmission Operators (RTOs) but serve a large market and are also tracked.
